The arch bridge was built after the Great Patriotic War in 1963. The bridge over the Volga River is actually the compositional center of the city and divides it into two approximately equal parts, the left bank and the right bank.

Today's bridge is not just a functional structure. It offers wonderful panoramic views of the river, the picturesque embankment with merchant houses and the majestic Assumption Monastery. Crossing it, you can literally feel the connection of times, plunge into the ancient atmosphere of the city and appreciate the beauty of the place where the quiet Old Woman meets the mighty Volga.

The length of the bridge is 322.1 m.

Taking into account the location of the bridge and its role as a link between the two historical parts of the city, the architectural lighting of the bridge over the Staritsa is made in a classical style using a combination of warm and cold colors. Conceptually, the evening image of the bridge is based on the inversion technique. The main parts visually forming the bridge structure, the side facades of the superstructure, are shown dark, and the illuminated internal volumes indirectly reveal the structure of the bridge. It was important to achieve uniform illumination of the inside of the roadway, which is the main element forming the volume of the bridge.

Given the free access of a person to the lighting installation, all lighting fixtures operate at a voltage of 24V during operation. Thus, special protective boxes have been developed to conceal and protect the power supplies from people and to give the lighting installation a more aesthetic appearance.
